Practice
I am an independent philanthropic advisor to individuals and families and have worked in philanthropy for 12 years. Planning for charitable giving after donors’ lifetimes is an important component of my consulting practice. Prior to consulting, I served as the Director of Philanthropic Planning at Community Foundation Sonoma County and managed the planned giving program, working with 150+ individual donors on their charitable estate planning. I also held numerous other roles within CFSC including Interim Vice President of Community Impact, overseeing approximately 7M a year in grantmaking to nonprofits in Sonoma County, and spent nearly a decade working for nonprofits in program management and fundraising; this experience has given me a holistic understanding of both the nonprofit ecosystem and effective charitable giving, which enhances my services as a philanthropic advisor. I hold a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy graduate certificate from The American College of Financial Services and an Impact Philanthropy Advisor certificate from Daylight, both of which extensively cover charitable gift planning and legacy giving in the curricula. I believe I will bring a unique perspective to REEPC given my expertise in philanthropy including the use of varying charitable giving vehicles such as DAFs, IRA QCDs, CRTs, private foundations, etc., as well as significant experience with the nonprofit community in Sonoma County, both which can support peers in REEPC with their interactions with clients who are charitably minded.
