I work at a CPA firm and work closely with the firm’s estate and trust team. I handle the preparation of various estate, trust, and gift tax returns. The preparation process includes reading and analyzing trusts and wills, organizing client documents, creating open item requests, researching estate and trust topics, and ensuring timely completion of the tax returns. I have experience working on portability estates with estimates and full reporting, specific bequests, GST allocations, QTIP elections, and qualified disclaimers. I have also prepared several irrevocable trust returns, including charitable trusts and gift tax returns for irrevocable life insurance trusts.
